01 Day
Delhi – Agra
One experience that will last a lifetime is seeing the Taj Mahal in the early morning. Before the masses arrive, the white marble's subtle grace is revealed as the delicate hues of morning illuminate it in shades of pink, gold, and mellow orange. Without sacrificing comfort or quality, this same-day tour from Delhi is intended for those who wish to see the monument's splendor at daybreak and return that same evening.
Early Morning: Delhi – Agra Drive
Get a comfy pickup from your Delhi hotel or airport to begin your trip before daybreak. Travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle along the smooth Yamuna Expressway, one of India’s best highways. The timing of your arrival in Agra ensures that you arrive at the Taj Mahal just before dawn.
Sunrise Visit to the Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal comes to life in the early morning light. The scene is serene and even surreal at this hour, when there are less tourists. In addition to pointing out elements you may otherwise see, such the monument's symmetry, inlay work, and calligraphy that covers its walls, your guide will tell you the monument's love story. Take plenty of time to go about the gardens, look at the reflection ponds, and take pictures in the optimal natural lighting.
Breakfast at a Local Restaurant
After your visit, enjoy breakfast at a clean, comfortable restaurant in Agra to relax and refresh.
Take a guided tour of Agra Fort, a marvel made of red sandstone that was the royal residence of the Mughal rulers, to cap off your morning. Explore its expansive courtyards, palaces, and chambers while taking in distant vistas of the Taj Mahal and the Yamuna River.
Optional: Visit a Handicraft Workshop or Local Market
If you have the time and are interested, your guide can show you a tiny market that specializes in Agra's leather goods and handicrafts, or a local marble inlay studio.
Afternoon: Return to Delhi
By the early afternoon, start your journey back to Delhi. By evening, your driver will leave you off at the hotel, airport, or train station of your choice, capping a day full of ease, beauty, and history.
